What is ORCHARD HOUSE?
"ORCHARD HOUSE" is a store of Kidowaki Fruit Farm that embodies the ideals that have been in place since the company's founding.
With the cooperation of the Oak Village Wooden Architecture Institute, it was completed in 2024.
The wood was cut from the forest cultivated by his grandfather, and after a proper drying period, it was assembled by hand by Hida craftsmen.

Wooden buildings made with traditional timber frameworks are said to be extremely durable.

Commonly used laminated lumber (Structural materials that use adhesives) have a limited lifespan due to the adhesive itself, so they will have to be demolished after a certain number of years, but in the case of timber framed structures, they can be used indefinitely as long as the wood is healthy.
Although the architecture is simple at first glance, with its Gassho-style roof, mansard structure, and Hida storehouse structure, you can see traces of advanced architectural techniques and structural calculations everywhere.
If you visit our garden, please be sure to take a look around the building.
